A new home may have passed its municipal inspections, but that does not necessarily mean every installation detail is perfect. During this new construction home inspection, the exterior conduit serving the garage was missing proper strapping. Without adequate support, the conduit had started pulling apart at the connection.
This is something we commonly find around:
✅ Detached garage electrical services
✅ Exterior electrical conduit
✅ Air-conditioning wiring
✅ Internet and communication cables
✅ Low-voltage wiring
If you recently purchased a new build in Edmonton, St. Albert or the surrounding area, take a walk around your property and look closely at the exterior wiring. Is the conduit securely fastened? Are any connections separating? Is wiring sagging or pulling away from the home? Are wall penetrations properly sealed? Small deficiencies are often easier to correct when they are identified early, especially before your builder warranty expires. An independent new home inspection or 11-month warranty inspection can help identify concerns that may otherwise go unnoticed.
